Drone Field Spraying VIC SA WA

Drone field spraying for the southern and western grain belt

Winter crops in the Wimmera, lentils on the Yorke, barley on the Eyre, canola through the WA Wheatbelt, and vines wherever the soil allows. We fly the jobs that a boom or a plane finds awkward.

Crops

Cereals, oilseeds, pulses and grapes.

How we work

What a drone is good for down here

Big, open wheat paddocks are still boom spray country. Drones come into their own on waterlogged patches after a wet winter, salt scalds and sandhills, small or odd shaped paddocks, vineyard rows and spot spraying from a weed map.

The APVMA treats pesticide application by RPAS as aerial application, so all of a label’s aerial directions apply (APVMA). If a product can’t legally go on by air, it can’t go on by drone.

Licences on request, not as decoration

Contract drone spraying needs CASA certification and state chemical licensing. Current details come with every quote.

Questions

What licences does a drone spraying contractor need in Victoria?

Agriculture Victoria requires an AAOL for the RPA operator and a PCRL for the pilot, on top of CASA requirements.

Can a drone replace my boom spray?

Not on large open paddocks. It complements the boom on wet ground, small blocks and spot spraying.

Can drones spray vineyards?

Yes, where labels permit aerial application and coverage checks are good.

What does it cost?

It depends on area, water rate and travel. We quote in writing.
